This is just a sampling of the photos taken on a photo safari to South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. It was a wonderful trip. If you get a chance to go - GO! and bring plenty of film.

The trip to Africa was three weeks long - staying in six different camps, two in each county of Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe- ranging from semi-permanent tents to luxurious accommodations.  Botswana was my favorite because the Okavango delta is so beautiful. One could see numerous wild animals as well as beautiful scenery. Wildlife photography was the goal and it was accomplished. At the time I used a Nikon SLR and a Bronica medium format camera. About a year ago, I moved to the fine art photography that is available with digital imagery with the Canon 20D; and want to go back to experience the spectacular sites with this new technology that will produce many more wonderful fine art prints and much fun for me. A few tips when traveling to Africa to obtain fine art photography images - take large freezer size zip lock bags to protect your camera from the fine dust in South Africa while the camera is not in use, bring at a minimum a three hundred mm lens capability (preferably image stabilized), change your lens with much caution against dust getting inside the camera, and bring a range of clothing because it may be warm in the daytime, it can get quite chilly at night.
